Balsamic Chicken Recipe
Introduction
This balsamic chicken recipe is a simple yet elegant dish featuring tender, juicy chicken cooked in a rich balsamic glaze. Perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions, this recipe is packed with flavor and pairs beautifully with a variety of sides.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp dried rosemary
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Season the Chicken
Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt, pepper, and rosemary.
Step 2: Sear the Chicken
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 5-6 minutes per side, or until golden brown. Remove the chicken and set aside.
Step 3: Make the Balsamic Glaze
Reduce the heat to medium. In the same skillet, add the balsamic vinegar, honey, and minced garlic. Stir and let the mixture simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
Step 4: Combine and Simmer
Return the chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the glaze over the top. Cover and simmer on low heat for 10-12 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked and coated in the glaze.
Step 5: Serve
Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot. Pair with roasted vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
Serving Suggestions
- Pair with garlic mashed potatoes and steamed asparagus for a balanced dinner.
- Serve over a bed of rice or quinoa to soak up the flavorful glaze.
- Add a side of crusty bread for dipping into the balsamic sauce.
Tips for Success
- Don’t Overcook: Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Adjust Sweetness: Add more or less honey depending on your taste preference.
- Use Fresh Herbs: Fresh rosemary or parsley enhances the flavor of the dish.
